You do not need to dedicate your entire life to a person to give attention. Sometimes all that is required is a few minutes, or time enough to share a compliment. Does some "one" you know need attention - today? How will you give your attention to a needed freshman. What are some of the obstacles you might need to overcome in order to give them your attention?
My job as a Link Crew member is to give the freshman my understanding and to be patient with them because they need all the attention they can get to get their grades to come up to a reasonable one. You have to be interested and willing to listen to their issues and problems. Most of the freshman don't understand what the meaning of responsibility is and how important it really is.
Obstacles that I might have to overcome is that the freshman might not want my help, it is going to be my job to convince them that making good grades is needed in high school and that Ds and Fs just aren't going to cut it. I'm sure that I will be able to handle the obstacles that get handed to me but it will probably take practice and determination to overcome them.

I agree with your blog 100%. The Freshmen need to learn responsibility and that Ds and Fs aren't going to get them anywhere in life. I'm sure you'll be a very good role model and you'll be able to help thme get their grades up!
